| Devon establishes Life Sciences Initiative | ||
| Devon Ventures Corporation is pleased to announce that is establishing an initiative to become active in the field of Life Sciences. The initiative is being lead by David Roberts who is being appointed to the position of Vice-President - Life Sciences. Mr. Roberts will be responsible for identifying investment opportunities for Devon in the life sciences sector. David Roberts has been an active member of Vancouver's high technology community for the last two decades. He holds a BSc (Hons) from the University College, London. Mr. Roberts has held a number of senior positions in technology management including Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Corporate Affairs and Communications of Kinetek Pharmaceuticals, where he raised over $20,000,000. Prior to joining Kinetek, he was Manufacturing Champion at the Science Council of British Columbia. He has served as a director of a number of private and public technology companies as well as on the advisory boards to various organizations including the British Columbia Institute of Technology, the Science Council of British Columbia and the Vancouver Life Sciences Angel Network. Mr. Roberts was also a mentor to the MBA program at the University of British Columbia. Mr. Roberts has agreed to invest $25,000 in Devon through a non-brokered private placement of 166,666 units at a price of $0.15 per share. Each unit will consist of one common share and one warrant. Each warrant will entitle Mr. Roberts to purchase one additional common share on or before March 8, 2004. The net proceeds of this private placement will be added to the Company's current working capital. The private placement is subject to approval of the Canadian Venture Exchange.
