| Devon Ventures to Change Name to Pender Financial Group Corporation | ||
| VANCOUVER, BC June 8, 2004 — Devon Ventures Corporation. (TSX-V: DVX) At the Annual General Meeting held today, the shareholders of Devon Ventures Corporation approved the change of the company name to "Pender Financial Group Corporation." The name and trading symbol on the TSX-Venture Exchange will change within the next few weeks. The shareholders also elected the proposed slate of directors, reappointed the auditors, approved an increase in the option pool and approved the transition of the company under the new British Columbia Business Corporations Act. The shareholders re-elected Bob Chase, Brian Edgar, Kelly Edmison and Bill Rand to the Board. Steven Shaver did not stand for re-nomination. The directors wish to thank Steve for his service over the past several years. Subsequent to the shareholders meeting, the directors appointed Bill Rand as the Chairman of the Board. The shareholders also elected Scott Shepherd to the Board. Scott is President and CEO of Vancouver based NorthStar Trade Finance Corporation, a trade finance company with over $160 million in assets that provides export financing to overseas buyers of Canadian goods. NorthStar is a private company controlled by four of Canada's Chartered Banks. "Scott is an successful, well known, creative and energetic entrepreneur that has great insight into many aspects of Canada's financial services industry.
